Francophonies d’Amérique

Editors: Peter Dorrington, Yves Frenette

Established by Jules Tessier, Francophonies d’Amérique is a multidisciplinary journal that acts as a forum for scholars conducting research on various socio-cultural aspects of French populations in North America.

This series provides a forum for the exchange of ideas and information between researchers and members of francophone enclaves throughout North America and makes an important contribution to overcoming the isolation these communities experience.

The collection brings together topics related to Acadians as well as francophones in Ontario, Western Canada, the United States and the French Caribbean. Studies might also focus on Quebec history and the unique place it occupies on the North American continent. Scholarly yet accessible, the works present research and analysis on the various facets of French life in these regions for readers with a particular interest in “French speakers” of North America. Francophonies d’Amérique also includes reviews as well as a bibliography of recent French-language works published in each of the regions.
